We just sold our van!

Sorry I haven't given an update in a while but I have a semi-valid excuse. I have been working for the last 6 weeks as a typist at a hospital. Which basically meant, I had to change a whole bunch of documents and type some new ones for 2 hospitals that are merging together as one in a new location. I got paid $15 an hour so that was pretty great! Plus, it was a piece of cake job compared to the other ones I have done here. And the people I worked for and with were very nice.

Anyway, that job ended last week and then we took our last trip around Coromandel. It was an amazing journey. I would love to upload some pics, but we are using dial up at the farm where we are staying and it would take ages. Sorry about that.

After our trip we came back to the farm and cleaned out our van so that we could take it to Auckland to sell it at the Backpackers Car Market. So we went up to Auckland this past Thursday and we sold it that very same day!! We were getting nervous because there weren't very many people coming to look (only about 10 or so). Then at the very end of the day this couple came in with some friends and they ended up buying it! We wanted 3500 NZD for it but we ended up settling for 3100. We were just glad to get rid of it so quickly and for such a great price (remember we only paid 3400 for it, plus some minor repairs throughout the year).

So we spent the night in Auckland and had dinner at this awesome Japanese place and as we were walking out the people who we bought the van off of last year were walking in. It was so weird and cool. Just goes to show you how small NZ actually is. If even in their biggest city we can run into someone we know. Amazing.

Anywho, we are now back at the farm in Te Puke after taking the bus back and waving one final goodbye to our van (which we saw parked just up the road from where our bus left!!!). We have about 1 week left. Hard to imagine that we have been here a whole year. I have mixed feelings about leaving. On the one hand I am very excited to see all of our friends and family again, but on the other I am quite sad to leave this very beautiful country that we have come to know and love. I just take comfort in knowing that I am going to come back at some point!

See you later taters!
